Meet Your Partner in Health & Fitness

I come from a long line of women who use food as emotional nourishment. My childhood was spent with my Buela & Tias, sitting around the table talking about life, sharing the latest gossip, and nourishing ourselves with home-cooked meals. Food was always considered the way to heal the heart.

While there was a positive side to communal eating, I was also surrounded by unhealthy “emotional eating” and the practice of soothing problems and anxieties through food. Further, Latina women have long been given the message that curvy is best and that we should focus all of our energies on caring for our families. These two extremes, obsessing over what you look like and neglecting yourself for the sake of others have something in common; they let other people dictate what should make us happy as women.

I have found that to truly love yourself and feel at home in your body, a new way of approaching life is needed. This includes having proper dietary knowledge and staying active but also making healthy choices when it comes to physical, mental and spiritual self-care. This is because when we are emotionally full and whole, we no longer need to rely on over or under-eating, unrealistic beauty standards, or the praise of others to make us feel secure and valued.

My path of service is to redefine healthy eating and healthy body image within the Latina culture.

I look forward to working with you! ♥︎

If you are not Latina and this message resonates with you then I help you too. I am Latina genes but I am multi-cultural and I am a woman just like you.
