DIY Papaya Face Mask

  • DIY

Winter is coming and that means it’s time to switch our skincare routines. Ladies, you know the struggle! Dull and dry skin during fall and winter simply cannot happen. This DIY papaya face mask is here to help you brighten your complexion – all the benefits with zero chemicals.

PAPAYA: Papaya consists of an enzyme called papain which promotes healing of the skin and will also enhance the secretion of collagen when used topically for the skin. Collagen is a primary skin component that keeps the skin healthy and enhances skin elasticity.

HONEY: Honey is one of nature’s most revered skin remedies. Thanks to its antibacterial and antiseptic abilities, it may benefit oily and acne-prone skin. Honey is also a natural humectant, so it helps keep the skin moist but not oily. This is because humectants draw moisture from the skin without replacing it.

EGG WHITE: For aging skin, egg whites can help tighten and firm. If you have large pores or acne-prone skin, egg whites help close pores and get rid of buildup. And if your skin is oily, egg whites are said to clarify pores and hair follicles that make too much sebum. Egg white masks are also super versatile.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mashed papaya

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • 1 whipped egg white

Directions

  • If you’re searching for a brighter, more glowing complexion — and why wouldn’t you be? — try this baby. The enzymes in the papaya are a natural exfoliator, so they go to work sloughing off dead skin cells, while the honey and egg white bind the mask together.

Enjoy your smooth skin!
